Stacie L. Potter

Stacie Lanetta Potter was born on October 20, 1968, in Bowling Green, KY to the union of Ronald Wayne and Patricia Potter. Stacie was the only child of Ronald Wayne and Patricia but later became the oldest of three other siblings. She transitioned from this life on Saturday, September 24, 2016, in Bowling Green, KY at the age of 47. Stacie confessed her love for Christ on May 5, 1975, where she was baptized at Woodburn Baptist Church in Woodburn KY. Stacie was an active member of Woodburn Baptist Church through childhood and adolescence. During her adolescent years Stacie attended Bowling Green High School where she was a star athlete on the basketball team and also served in various clubs and organizations in high school. Upon graduation, Stacie decided to focus on herself and explore life. In 1990 Stacie gave birth to healthy baby boy, Dameco Stewart, and one year later, in 1991, she gave birth to beautiful baby girl, DeaOnia Stewart. Stacie worked diligently at a number of places to support her children. Stacie’s positions include Quality Assurance Leader with S&R of Bowling Green, KY and Office Manager for Group Effort. Stacie’s most recent positions included Machine Operator at Bendix and Help at Home Inc., where she served people with disabilities. While working, Stacie decided to further her education. Stacie completed her Associate Degree in Business Management from Daymar College. In 2007 Stacie met Roger Greer. After meeting Roger, Stacie realized she had found true love. In June of 2016 Roger proposed to Stacie with plans to marry in the Spring of 2017. Stacie was a Faithful Servant Christian Woman. Within her church community, she devotedly served as a member of Next Level Church. She was involved in teaching vacation bible school and helping wherever she was needed. Stacie was truly a woman after God’s own heart. Stacie was the type of person who would go without to make sure others had enough. Stacie was strong, independent and most importantly filled with compassion for others. In February of 2015 Stacie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Stacie fought a long battle with her cancer. In June 2016 she became cancer free and immediately started to give back to her community. Stacie began to participate in Relay for Life, Sista Strut and other Breast Cancer Awareness activities. Unfortunately, Stacie was innocently unaware of the battle she had ahead of her. In the late summer of 2016 Stacie was hit with a new diagnosis’s. The cancer spread to her liver and stomach. On Saturday, September 24, 2016, Christ called our beloved Stacie home. She passed at Greenview Regional Hospital, comfortably. Stacie leaves to cherish her memory: her two children Dameco and DeaOnia Stewart, of Bowling Green, KY; her devoted fiancé Roger Greer, of Bowling Green, KY; her two step children Chauncey and Chaney, of Bowling Green, KY; her loving father Ronald Wayne Potter (Ann) of Bowling Green, KY; a granddaughter, MaKyiah and grandson, Akayran of Bowling Green, KY; two brothers Derek Potter (Kenesha), of Murfreesboro, TN; Derik Potter (Nicki), of Louisville, KY; and a sister Vicki Turner (Jarress) of Lexington, KY; seven nieces, Jayla, Jada, Olivia, Annalyse, Makayla, Tey’anna, and Clarke and three nephews Jonathan, Derakus and Qai. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and church family whose lives she has touched in ways that only Stacie could do. Sincerely, -Your friends at Burnam and Son
