Clara E. Crabtree

Ms. Clara Elizabeth Crabtree, 75. was a long-time resident of Portland, Tennessee and a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was raised in the heart of Detroit during her teenage years, with her very own apartment right next to Motown Records. Her childhood friends knew her as Clara Elizabeth. In her adulthood, she shortened her name to Liz. Clara Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Clara Elizabeth Coleman and Clifford Anthony, Sr. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Clifford Anthony, Jr., Margret Anthony, Marie Shelton, Mary Landrum, Erza Anthony, Harshal Anthony, Linda Ferguson, Follis Anthony, and nephews, Greg McKinney, Clifford Wayne McKinney, and Curtis Halcomb. Liz retired from Unipres USA, Inc. after 20 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Portland, Tennessee. She loved talking on the phone to her many friends, watching murder mysteries with her daughter. Clara has read every Steven King and Dean Koontz novel written. Liz was known to have a great sense of humor. She was a wise owl, always cracking jokes & kept people laughing. She had a smile that would melt the hardest heart. Liz never took off her armor or her smile, through sickness and in health. She could fight a battle with the mightiest soldiers. Clara Elizabeth is now with the Saints who have gone ahead of us. She was too precious for this world. Clara Elizabeth's memory will be honored by her children, Chastity Elizabeth Crabtree, Portland, Tennessee, Patrick (Penny) Crabtree, Franklin, Kentucky, Rodney (Sylvia) Portland, Tennessee, and Tara Crabtree, Jacksonville, Florida. Sister, Cecile Denning and Brother, David Anthony from Bowling Green, Kentucky. Nieces and nephews; Michelle Anthony, Zanetta Halcomb, Robert Franklin, Brian Harris, Darrell Harris, Erza Anthony, Jr., Tony Anthony, Ronnie Anthony, Charles Anthony, Marcia McKinney, Crisandra Coleman, Felesha Johnson, Tonya Ferguson, Crystal Gilchrist, Dewon Ferguson, David Anthony, Jr., Danielle Anthony, Devin Anthony Davis and Damon Anthony. Beloved friends, Clarence Crabtree, Mary "Meme" Hooge, Bernice Lightfoot, Beverly Woods, Gail Braswell and devoted nurses Bailey Perdue, Trina Bowman.
