Mary E. Armstrong

June 26, 1941 - March 19, 2020

Mary Elizabeth Armstrong……..was born, June 26, 1941, in Nashville, Tennessee, a daughter to the late Allen D. Williams and Beatrice Ford Corley, and Joe Zeal Corley. Following the wishes of Mary she was taken home from Signature Healthcare, and on, Thursday, March 19, 2020, while in the comfort of her home and surrounded by the love of her family, Mary took flight as she gained her angel wings and shoes at the generous age of 78 years. At a young age, Mary joined the Eleventh Street Baptist Church under the leadership and the Rev. Herschel Halsell. Mary has remained a faithful and dedicated member working with the Willing Workers, Nurses Aide, Food Committee, and Ushers. Mary loved attending Sunday School, Prayer service and Bible Study. Mary was a 15-year employee of the Warren County School System serving in the cafeteria at Rockfield Elementary and also a Bus Monitor. Mary had also worked at Lost River and for the Garrison, Cherry and French families. Mary loved children and shared her home by becoming a part of the Foster Parent, Foster Grandparent Programs. In her leisure, she loved to watch Law and Order, Westerns, and of course cartoons with the kids. Mary also enjoyed reading her bible, cooking, arts, and crafts and making ceramics. Mary was well taken care of at home by her son and daughter, along with her sister Joyce taking her to doctor’s appointments. Mary had led a cancer-free life since 2009 and has now joined those passed before her; husband, Norman Armstrong; sons, Bobby Lightfoot, Jr., Little Bobby Lightfoot, and Abner Lightfoot. To cherish the loving memory of Mary E. Armstrong she leaves her children, Angela Lightfoot, and Brian Keith Lightfoot, both of Bowling Green, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; Siblings, Joyce Gurley, Debra Corley, both of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Joe Zeal (Rosalind) Corley, and Marlene (George) Brown, all of Gallatin, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Sincerely, -Your friends at Burnam and Son
