John "Bull" C. Bolling
August 27, 1958 - May 16, 2018
Chef John C. Bolling… “Bull” was born August 27, 1958, to the late Chester Bolling and Iwanda Bolling in Bowling Green, Kentucky. John was a graduate of Bowling Green High School and attended Western Kentucky University. John was a member of Taylor Chapel A.M.E. Church. Those who knew John, “Bull” as his closest family and friends called him, was an artist, a culinary artist that is. Bull had a passion for food and felt blessed to love a profession that allowed him to share with so many patrons around the city of Bowling Green. Bull was a self taught chef preparing luscious meals at some of Bowling Green’s finest restaurants: Iron Skillet, Parakeet Café, Brickyard Café, 440 Main and La Gala to name a few. Inspired with the soulful sound of Frankie Beverly & Maze and Earth Wind and Fire, John would grill up some of the most delectable dishes ever seen. John’s signature dishes consist of champagne chicken, seafood dishes and of course spinach dip. John received the Trail Blazers Award for Culinary Arts in 2009. Whenever time allowed John enjoyed a good game of basketball or football. John was happily married to Delores “Bunny” Halsell, July 29, 1990, in Las Vegas Nevada. On, Wednesday, May 16, 2018, Chef John retired from this earthly world at the delightful age of 59 years.
