Bea A. Isable
April 3, 1943 - January 19, 2021
Our beloved Bea Audrey Isable was born on April 3, 1943, in Celina, Tennessee to Bud Garrett and Ruth Evelyn Paige. Bea was the oldest of six siblings on her mothers’ side and has six siblings on her fathers’ side. Both of her parents and two brothers have preceded her in death. Bea was a very kind and generous person who was selfless and enjoyed helping other people. She has influenced many lives in her lifetime and will be greatly missed. Bea departed this earthly life to eternal rest on January 19, 2021, resting comfortably at home surrounded by her husband, children, family, and friends. This transition to eternal rest leaves a void in the lives of everyone who knew her. No matter the time or place of your interaction with Bea, she was definitely the type of person who left an impression, and her spirit, personality, voice, and passion will truly be remembered by all. Bea leaves to mourn her devoted husband of 56 years, Harold Isable. Her three children: Lee Isable (Brenda), Memphis, TN; Hilton Isable (Kaci), Bowling Green, KY; and Chad Isable (Tara), Crestwood, KY. Grandchildren: Xavian Isable, Arnez Isable, India Isable, Jarian Isable, Brielan Isable, Xavier Isable, and Kane Isable. Great-grandchildren: Jasmine Isable, Zaelah Yancey, and Londyn Isable. Siblings: Brenda Doss, Ada Joyce Ellis, Ernest Ellis (Kim), Connie Ellis, Michael Ellis, Geneva Bartlett (Bobby), Robert Garrett, Jr., Sonny Garrett, Connie Garrett, and Ann Hill. Bea also leaves to mourn numerous family members, friends, former colleagues, and her brothers and sisters in Christ. She was proceeded in death by brothers Paul Ellis and Austin Bailey. Bea lived a life of service and honor to the Lord. She was a faithful member of West End Church of Christ. Bea served as a diligent matriarch to her family and worked hard to raise God-fearing children and grandchildren. Bea’s fight with her illness never caused her faith in the Lord to waver; however, her faith grew stronger and she expressed her feelings knowing that she was headed home to be with God. Bea touched many lives while serving the field of public education for 36 & ½ years from 1996 – 2002. Her journey in education began in Ft. Knox, from 1966-1972. Bea then served in the Warren County Public School system as a teacher from 1972-1990. She served as an administrator from 1990-2002. Bea’s hand in instruction continued past professional retirement as she taught Sunday School classes at West End Church of Christ until her sickness would not allow her to continue. Bea was a volunteer for CASA of Warren County and previously was a member of the National Education Association, Kentucky Education Association, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, and the American Association of Retired Persons. In 1992, Bea was honored with the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers award. In 2010, Bea was the NAACP Bowling Green/Warren County Branch Freedom Fund Gala recipient of the Ambassador of Education Award. In 2016, Bea was honored as the recipient of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association Third District Volunteer of the Year. Finally, in 2018, Bea was honored as a Trailblazer in the field of Elementary Education Leadership. Sincerely, -Your friends at Burnam and Son
