Nathaniel "Nat" Tisdale

Nathaniel Tisdale was born, August 30, 1957, in Barren County, KY a son of the late Emma Tisdale and Nathaniel Gibbons, Sr. His early education took place at Park City Colored School and then Park City High School upon integration. He was a, 1975, graduate of Barren County High School. At an early age, Nathaniel was baptized and joined the Zion Hill Baptist Church where he remained supportive throughout his life. At Zion Hill he served as an Usher and member of the Brotherhood. Upon moving to Louisville, he attended Hill Street Baptist Church where he taught a Men’s Sunday School Class. In the last few years, Nathaniel was attending Kingdom Fellowship Christian Life Center. Following high school, Nathaniel was employed by SKF/Tyson Bearing, leaving there he went into the restaurant business. He was a nightshift manager at Jerry’s Restaurant and then he moved to Bowling Green helping open the first Rally’s Restaurant on Russellville Road. Nathaniel loved people and being around people made him happy. He was so much fun to be around, an avid U of L Cardinal fan (all sports), Tennessee Vols, and Pittsburg Steelers. He also liked to go fishing, watch wrestling and Gunsmoke and he loved his yellow truck. After moving to Louisville, he was employed by Radial Fulfillment Center. Even though Nathaniel he had no children of his own, the impact and support that he showed his nieces and nephews were beyond expectations. From choir concerts to the football field, to basketball games, to track meets, to church singings, just whatever they were doing he was there to support. With a smile on his face as big as his heart he captured a love and respect that was beyond explaining. That love and support he had for his family never stopped; even through sickness and pain he was there. How would you describe Nathaniel, Nat, Uncle Na, Uncle T, Bean head, Big Brother, “T” the BEST whatever he was to you, anyone could ever ask for. So as the evening sun had sat on the afternoon of, December 2, 2021, Nathaniel was beyond a doubt at peace as he slumbered and slept in the arms of a loving Father joining those gone before him; parents, Emma Tisdale and Nathaniel Gibbons; grandparents, Nannie Mae and Ernest Tisdale, Sr.; brother, Nathaniel Gibbons, Jr.; aunts, Bernice Waggoner and Geneva Allen; uncles, Rev. Ernest Tisdale, Jr., Robert Lee Tisdale; niece, Cassandra Elliott and Godfather, John Amos. To cherish the loving memory of Nathaniel Tisdale he leaves his sisters, Judy (Cedric) Burnam, Mary (Mark) Elliott, Marian Louise Floyd, Linda Taylor; brother, Lorenzo “LoLo” Gibbons; special nieces and nephews, Mareika (like a daughter), Divine, Samone, Tanaya, Joseph, Colin, Taiyon, DJ; Godmother, Geneva Amos; aunt, Mary Anderson; sister in law, Gwen Gibbons; special cousins, Mary, Jimmy, Deak; several other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended siblings, Debbie, Mary, Ronnie, Ricky Joe, Keith, Victoria, Rita; other relatives and friends.
