Louise Stockton

. Louise transitioned peacefully at the home of her son surrounded by her loving family on April 5, 2023 after a long illness. Louise, the last of the surviving member, was the fifth child out of six children born to the late Bruce Austin and Ivy Ella Austin Whitney on February 11, 1936, in Fountain Run, Kentucky. The devoted wife of the late M C Stockton of 44 years. They were united in Holy Matrimony on December 1, 1956, in Jeffersonville, Indiana and to this union four children were born. Louise Stockton accepted Christ at an early age at Statenfield Baptist Church in Fountain Run, Kentucky and later united at First Baptist Church, Glasgow, Kentucky for many years. She later joined and was a long-standing member of Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church, Bowling Green, KY where she worshipped until her illness. She committed her life to serving the Lord. She served many years as the Church Treasurer, on the Church Mother Board, president of the Church Nurses Guild Ministry, and secretary of the Missionary Society. She was a graduate of Ralph Bunch High School, Glasgow, KY and received her certification from Glasgow School for Licensed Practical Nurses in 1958. She began her nursing career at T.J. Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow, Kentucky and worked there for 10 years. Also, she worked Health Care Centers in Glasgow and Bowling Green, Kentucky and as a part-time nurse at Onyx Job Corp, Mammoth Cave Kentucky. Louise Stockton had a deep, caring love for her family and gave her best to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to sew and made many dresses & prom gowns for her daughters. Until her illness, she was at her grandchildren school events, graduations and sports games. She loved to prepare big meals for her family. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Cornelia (Anton) Reece, Joanifer Arnetta Caldwell, Mandel (Marilyn devoted caregiver and daughter-in-law) Stockton and Marchel (Karen) Stockton; two sisters-in-law, Lou Frances (William) Twyman and Charity Gonzales; ten grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Clara Barnett, Mae Emma Lewis, Barbara Jean Humphrey, Bennie Austin and Omer Austin. Sincerely, -Your friends at Burnam and Son
