Lee E. Outlaw

Lee Elvis Outlaw, a son of the late Elwyn Outlaw and Correan Merriwetter Outlaw, was born, September 25, 1937, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Before the break of day, Friday, June 21, 2024, Lee crossed that chilly river at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 27 days. After graduating from high school, Lee enlisted with the United States Air Force and served his country proudly receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1958. Upon making Bowling Green his home, he received his Associate's Degree in Business Administration and accounting from Bowling Green Business College. Lee was formerly employed by Holley Automotive for 29 years. Lee was married to Mary L. Ellis, December 14, 1968, in Robertson County, Tennessee. He was blessed not only to find his true love but also receive the love and respect of her children. Lee was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church where he served as head of the Trustee Board. A hard worker who provided for his family, Lee Elvis Outlaw enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking (you had to have some of those pork chops with mushroom gravy, and his sweet potato pie was scrumptious), grilling, watching Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, Bowling and Football. Lee was a former semiprofessional boxer who sparred with Joe Frazier. Lee had a personality that just drew you to him, he loved to joke around and keep you laughing, just a real people person who never met a stranger. Preceding Lee in death along with his parents, were his, daughter, Vivian Hibbitt; son, Michael A. Williams: son in-law, Clifford Nears; siblings, Alberta Mosby, Ida Mae West, Ophelia Marie Davis, Myrtle Louise, Galbreath, Genell Outlaw, Genette Harden, Geneva Harrison, Rachel Ester Owens, Kitty Daphene Gilliam, and seven other siblings that died either at childbirth or early adolescence years. To cherish the memory of Lee Elvis Outlaw he leaves his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Mary L Outlaw; children, Theresa (Leonard) Johnson, Bobbie Nears, Robert (Sandra) Ellis, Darrell Ellis, Stephanie Lea Henderson, and Bonita (Rickey, Sr.) Riddley; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; son in-law, Ronald Hibbitt, Sr.; siblings, Maureen (Sylvester) Marshall, and Joe (Irene) Outlaw; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
