Inez Taylor

Ms. Inez Taylor answered the final call to enter into eternal life on November 7, 2020, in her home surrounded and serenaded by her loving family. Inez was affectionately referred to as “Brown Granny”, “Ham”, “Nettie”, “Nezzy”, and aunt Day-Day. Inez was proceeded in death by her parents Evelyn Hobson Taylor and Ellis Taylor, seven siblings Fannie Loving, Georganna White, James Ellis Taylor, Lorene Wysong, Mary Helen Holloway, Evelyn Taylor, and Julia Narcisse. Inez was also proceeded in death by her two loving sons Clifton Hughes “Cliff” Taylor and Eddie Wayne “Sauce” Taylor. Inez leaves in comfort three loving children, Freddie Lee (Tikeeta )Taylor, Sheila (Jerry “Bro”) Smith, and Roderic Oldham. Inez also leaves behind her devoted caregivers, Latonya Jackson, Jasmine Smith, Andreana Bridges, Lyric Ragland and Taylor Ragland who cared for her as Inez did for all. Inez also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. Inez attended State Street High School in Bowling Green, KY. Inez accepted Christ at an early age at Taylors Chapel A.M.E. church. As a member of Taylors Chapel, Inez served on the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee, and the Rainbow Circle. Inez was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 209. Inez worked as a cook for Little Treasurers Daycares (multiple locations), Cecelia Memorial, Gordon Avenue, and Third Street Daycare centers. Inez worked diligently as a foster grandparent through Community Action of Southern Kentucky for over 16 years, which she truly enjoyed! Inez’s great joy was showering her children and family with her amazing cooking, often adhering to the jestful name of “short-order” cook. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren overwhelmingly requested “pan-a-cakes” and jowl bacon. Her nieces and nephews requested her delicious peach cobbler. Inez was a big University of Louisville basketball fan and possessed a vast collection of team paraphernalia. Inez also enjoyed playing the lottery, making earrings, arranging jewelry, and showing off her beautiful rings, clothes, and fashion hats. Inez will be most fondly remembered for her quick wit, even more, expressive face, and eclectic fashion ring array. Sincerely, -Your friends at Burnam and Son
