Laverta M. Mobley

Laverta Mobley...was born, March 4, 1933, in Macon, Georgia, a daughter to the late Ike Martin and Rev. Katie Harvey Martin. Laverta answered her call home on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Signature Healthcare in Bowling Green, Kentucky at the generous age of 86 years. Laverta was a member of the St. James Baptist Church in Connecticut. In 1993, Laverta moved to Kentucky. She was employed by Stanley Tools for over 25 years. Laverta enjoyed reading, watching TV, and above all, she loved caring for children. On November 29,1952, Laverta was formerly married to William Mobley, together they raised their wonderful children. Laverta was predeceased by a son, Deacon Michael Mobley, sister Alma Jackson and grandson, Tyrese, niece Lynn Jackson and son-in-law Lee Harden. To cherish the precious memories of Laverta Mobley she leaves her sons, David (Angie) Mobley, Bowling Green, KY, and Dennis Mobley, Windsor, CT; daughters, Pamela (Joe) Simmons, Norfolk, VA, Roxanne Harden, Virginia Beach, VA, Beverly Mobley, Chesapeake, VA, and Barbara (Howard) Daniels, Bloomfield, CT; grandchildren, Darceen, Ashley, Aisha, Natasha, Ifetayo, Clarissa, Colette, Kenton, Cameron, Corinne, Kaleah, Kiera and Deschaine; great-grandchildren, Rakeem, Keilani, Trevon, Aubriegh, and Imani; great-great-grandchildren, Zacchaeus, Legyn, Xavier and Sinai; brother, Raemond Martin, New York, NY; sister, Elestine Nicholson, West Hartford, CT; a host of other relatives and friends.
