James Holder

James Holder Sr. was born June 29, 1937, in Warren County, Bowling Green, Kentucky. James was born to the late Clem Holder and Stella Davis. He was preceded in death by his sister Laura Davis and brothers Hayes "Junior" Holder and his twin brother Jerry Holder. James attended Delafield School. James was a Jehovah Witness. He loved going fishing, cooking BBQ and gardening, and just enjoying life. At the age of 17, James became one of the first African-Americans in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to become a butcher, where he learned the trade at Bob White Meat Packing Company. James was a butcher with Omni Custom Meats, where he retired after working for over 30 plus years being a butcher. James united in marriage, March 10, 1970, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Charlotte Allen. James is survived by his wife, Charlotte Holder, and children; Melinda and Antonio Ray, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Harold, and Christina Allen, Nashville, Tennessee, James Holder Jr., Bowling Green, Kentucky, Lara Shay & Zackery Taylor, Pompano, Florida and Anna Maria Holder and Darrell Butler, Bowling Green, Kentucky. 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren, Nephew Earl Gilbert, a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, Jerry Holder, great-nephews, cousin Floyd and Jackie Bloodworth, cousins, and many friends.
