James H. Beason
February 17, 1943 - February 22, 2021
James H. Beason was born, February 17, 1943, in Simpson County, Kentucky, a son of the late Walter Frank Beason and Lillian Rigsby Beason. On, Monday, February 22, 2021, James started a new journey as he found peace within his soul at the age of 78 years. James started school in Simpson County and upon moving to Richpond and attended Woodburn School. In 1962, James graduated from High Street High School. Later he attended Bowling Green Technical School and Western Kentucky University. James was a lifelong member of Richpond First Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. James was a Deacon, Treasurer, Building Fund Committee, Kitchen manager and would helped keep up the church grounds, cemetery, and whatever other maintenance needed to be done. James loved Richpond First Baptist and would do whatever it took to keep them together and doing God’s work. After 20 years of service, James retired from Trace Die Cast, as a Tool & Die Maker. That was only one of the many things James accomplished. He loved helping people as he was a volunteer for the George Washington Carver Center and Hotel Inc., where he would often mow the grass when needed. James always worked and volunteered when needed in the community of Bowling Green. He coached a Women’s softball team (Royal Music Co.) to a First place championship. James loved hunting rabbits and wild game, such as deer and turkey, and he loved to fish for Coho Salmon on Lake Michigan. But as everyone knows, James's love for cooking helped him share the talent that God blessed him with. Known as the “Barbecue Man” James ran his catering business for over 26 years. On, July 23, 1966, at the home of Rev. and Mrs. William Richardson, James married Anna Whitlock and together they, have shared 54 years of lasting and loving memories, along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his siblings, Walter Frank Beason, Jr., Rosie Hendley, Earlene Welch, and Willie George Beason; grandparents, George Beason and Rosie McKinney Beason, Ernest Rigsby and Julia Taylor Rigsby; in-laws, Debora Buford and Paul Harris.
