Howard Wayne Lewis, 64, died Feb. 3, 2009, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Warren County native was born Nov. 18, 1944. He was a retiree from Holley Carburetor and Spirit Manufactory. He was a Bristow High School graduate, where he ran track. He also loved wrestling, fishing and hanging out with family and friends. He was a son of the late Deacon Bennie Lewis and Lucille Carson Lewis and the grandson of the late Lallie and Harm Carson. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Burnam & Son Mortuary, with burial in Plum Springs Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Jarvis and her husband, Victor, of Bowling Green; two brothers, Kenneth Lewis and his wife, Virginia, of Bowling Green and LeRoy Jewell and his wife, Paulette, of Louisville; five nieces, Margaret Robinson and her husband, Ricky, of Nashville, Vicky Gregory and her husband, Antonio, of Bowling Green, Kentina Smith and her husband, Antonio, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tina Jewell of Louisville and LaTonya Jewell of Bowling Green; eight nephews, Kenneth Moore of Tampa, Fla., Quentin Dice of Colorado Springs, Mario Lewis and special friend, Ashley Spillman, of Glasgow, Charles Jewell of Louisville, Kirk Jewell of Louisville, Michael Jewell of Illinois, Dedrick Jewell of Louisville and LeRoy Jewell Jr. of Louisville; six aunts, Mary Outlaw and her husband, Lee, of Bowling Green, Bertha Lewis of Bowling Green, Bessie Aulthouse of Oakland, Flora Dunn of Keewanee, Ill., Loretta Carson of Galesburg, Ill., and Eleanor Carson of Bowling Green; many cousins and friends; a special friend, Rena Allen of Bowling Green; and also Daily Fishback of Bowling Green, whom he thought of as a brother.
