Darryl L. "Professor" Smith

Mr. Darryl L. "Professor" Smith, 61, of Bowling Green, Kentucky died on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Upon graduation from Warren Central High School, Darryl a 1980 Western Kentucky University graduate received both, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters in Communication. While at Western Kentucky, Darryl was a member of Phi Beta Sigma, a four year football player and track team. Afterwards, he went on to receive an Associate Degree in Intercultural Studies from Howard University. His passion for football lead him to pursue both, a semi and professional career. Darryl was a former teacher of Warren County School System, member of First Baptist Rockfield and United States Navy veteran. He loved sports, reading and teaching. Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Smith and Luvenia Elizabeth Potter Smith. Darryl is survived by his daughter, Rainbow Huff of Nashville TN; sister, Ms. Melanie Smith Edison of Bowling Green, KY; niece and nephews, Lauren, Trent and Talmadge Edison all of Bowling Green, KY; great nephew, Casen Edison of Bowling Green, KY; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
