Our History

Since 1967, Burnam & Son Mortuary has provided traditional, personalized and cremation funeral services for Bowling Green-Warren County and surrounding communities.

Our founder, Claude E. Burnam, Jr., dedicated his life to providing families the guidance and assurance needed during the loss of their loved one.

Today, the owners and staff of Burnam & Son Mortuary continue the tradition of assisting families during one of the most difficult times of their life.


Our Present

Burnam and Son Mortuary and Cremation Services is a full service establishment that demonstrates professionalism, dignity and compassion while conducting the highest standards of care in the disposition of human remains. We are a service corporation that is committed to providing total quality service, maintaining confidentiality, respect for the deceased and privacy for our client families.

Our first responsibility as a dedicated funeral service establishment is to the families we serve. We are committed to providing client families with courteous service, high standards of performance and excellence which serve as the hallmark of the funeral industry.

Our second generation of family ownership continues to serve the communities of Adairville, Bowling Green, Cave City, Franklin, Glasgow, Horse Cave, Morgantown, Munfordville, Oakland, Park City, Rockfield, Russellville, Scottsville, Smiths Grove and Woodburn.

Cedric Burnam

Cedric Burnam, Funeral Director, Embalmer, President and Owner

Cedric, has assisted those who have experienced the loss of a loved one since 1974. His exemplary care, from the first call to the delivery of the last plant, in assisting family members with their needs exemplifies professional service. Cedric is married to Judy and they have three children. He is a graduate of Bowling Green High School, Kentucky School of Mortuary Science and Bowling Green Vocational Technical School. Cedric served his country as a United States Navy Hospital Corpsman. He's a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Ancient Landmark Lodge # 28 F.& A.M.- P.H.A. and Western Kentucky University President's Circle. Cedric was elected to the office of Warren County, KY Magistrate/Justice of Peace, 2nd District (2003-2006) and currently serves as Warren County Constable, District 2 (2013-2014). He is Corporate President, Owner, Funeral Director/Embalmer, Restorative Art Expert and Cremation Service Expert.


Carmen Burnam

Carmen Burnam, Vice-President and Owner

Carmen, has assisted those who have experienced the loss of a loved one since 1997. Her exemplary care, from the first call to the delivery of the last plant, in assisting family members with their needs exemplifies professional service. Carmen is the proud mother of Ryan and Tyler Burnam. She is a graduate of Bowling Green High School and member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Carmen also serves her community as a Warren County, KY Sheriff's Deputy. She is our Corporate Vice-President, Owner and Senior Funeral Attendant,.


Claudia Burnam

Claudia Burnam, Funeral Director, Embalmer, Secretary and Owner

Claudia, Owner/Operator, has assisted those who have experienced the loss of a loved one since 1978. Her exemplary care, from the first call to the delivery of the last plant, in assisting family members with their needs exemplifies professional service. Claudia has one child. She is a graduate of Bowling Green High School, Kentucky School of Mortuary Science and member of Burnett Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. She is a licensed Kentucky Funeral Director/Embalmer, event planning specialist, corporate secretary, owner/operator and cremation service specialist.


Kelly Burnam-Lee

Kelly Burnam-Lee, Funeral Director, Embalmer, Treasurer and Owner

Kelly has assisted those who have experienced the loss of a loved one since 1978. Her exemplary care, from the first call to the delivery of the last plant, in assisting family members with their needs exemplifies professional service. Kelly has two children. She is a graduate of Bowling Green High School, Kentucky School of Mortuary Science and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Kelly is a Kentucky licensed funeral director/embalmer, administrative specialist, corporate treasurer, owner/operator, and cremation service specialist.


Judy Tisdale-Burnam

Judy Tisdale-Burnam, Funeral Director, Apprentice Embalmer

Judy, has assisted those who have experienced the loss of a loved one since 1996. Her exemplary care, from the first call to the delivery of the last plant, in assisting family members with their needs exemplifies professional service. Judy is married to Cedric and they have three children. The Barren County native is a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church choir and secretary. She is a licensed Kentucky Funeral Director and Apprentice Embalmer.

Ryan is married to Dana, and they have two children. He's a graduate of Bowling Green High School and Western Kentucky University. Ryan is a licensed Kentucky funeral director, embalmer and cremation service specialist.


Gary Edison

Gary Edison, Staff

Gary, Staff, has assisted those who have experienced the loss of a loved one since 1997. His exemplary care, from the first call to the delivery of the last plant, in assisting family members wth their needs exemplifies professional service. Gary has three children, Trent, Talmadge and Lauren. The Warren County native serves as Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Deacon, Liberty District Association Treasurer and Liberty District Association Trustee Board Treasurer.
